Book Jacket Series
This project researches a contemporary author’s literary works. It uses typography as the primary graphic element design a minimum of three different titled hard-cover book jackets that establish a line look.
I choose Kazuo Ishiguro’s works to design. Kazuo Ishiguro is a Nobel Prize-winning British novelist, screenwriter, and short-story writer. Although he was born in Japan, his works are full of the feeling of the British. The three books I chose were Never Let Me Go, The Remains of The Day and The Buried Giant.
In the design, I chose the most classic scenes in the novels. Simple images and colours, but using and playing with the typefaces made the jacket more interesting. The middle line used in every design is the connection showing they are in the same series.
