Miam Miam
Introduction
This project aims to create the concept for a new scientifically or theoretically plausible drug that, in its nature, reflects an aspect of contemporary human behaviour in a critical manner.
According to some research, a vegetarian can save more than 25 land animals each year. But it is still tough for some people to change their eating habits. And this drug aims to change people’s dietary habits when they are very young. This drug works on people’s taste bud, changes the taste of blood or the particular protein in the meat and makes them feel disgusting when they eat meat again. And considering some Pescetarianism or Lacto-Ovo-Vegetarian, this drug only changes the feeling of meat from land animals.
In the beginning, I have the idea of making a drug for the people who want to be vegetarians. And then, I narrowed the range to the kids because the earlier the vegetarian journey starts, save the more animals. But is that right that the parents make the “they-thought good” decisions for their kids that will affect their lives? So, I chose the kids from between 3-5 years old.
At last, I wanted to design the packaging to encourage the kids to buy and take medicine. And I also wanted to make an animation guide as a marketing member of the drug company. This project aims to create the concept for a new scientifically or theoretically plausible drug that, in its nature, reflects an aspect of contemporary human behaviour in a critical manner.
The target audience of this drug is kids aged 3-5. They have their food preferences and some self-consciousness but still easy to be swayed by their parents. So, the packaging design aims to help the parents encourage their kids to have this not so tasty drug. The style of the packaging is cute. The name of this drug, “Miam-Miam” means “yum-yum” in French. The front side of this packaging is designed as a monster. The part of their mouth can be opened and hints to the kids that they save animals from the monsters.
I also made animation as a guide for the parents. I designed the childish style to hint to the parents that their kids also want to take the drug. But it is just the promotion means used by the marketing. Is that what the kids want?
